Princess Eugenie announces pregnancy with rare photo

Princess Eugenie has revealed that she and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their third child.

She shared the news on Instagram with a sweet photo of their two sons, August and Ernest, looking at a scan image, captioning it: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”

Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, had been away from Instagram for about six months. She only recently returned to mark Jack’s 40th birthday, posting a few family moments, including a picture of their eldest son playing on the beach.

Now, she’s followed that up with the big announcement that their family will soon grow to five. The update was also confirmed by the official account of British Royal Family, which shared that the baby is expected this summer. It added that their sons, August (5) and Ernest (2), are excited about becoming big brothers, and that King Charles III has been informed and is delighted.

Friends, fans, and public figures quickly reacted with warm messages. TV presenter Charlotte Hawkins was among those sending congratulations.

Eugenie’s post stood out not just for the news, but also because it offered a rare glimpse of her children. She usually keeps their lives private, with her social media more focused on her charity work, including her involvement with The King’s Foundation, Artswork, and previously Anti-Slavery International.

Photos of August and Ernest are uncommon, though she did share a heartfelt post for Ernest’s second birthday, describing him as always smiling, laughing, and bringing joy to those around him.

When the new baby arrives, they won’t hold a royal title. That’s due to the 1917 Letters Patent, which limits who is automatically given prince or princess status. While Eugenie herself is a princess as a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, her children don’t qualify under those rules.

Interestingly, the children of her sister Princess Beatrice do carry titles. That’s because Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is from Italian nobility, meaning their children are recognized with titles like “contessa” or “nobile donna.”
